If you want to see who a leader is and what she’s really capable of, give her a crisis.
For some leaders, crisis is a fire to be extinguished. For others, it’s a forge to create something better and stronger.
Tasha Lester, a Chicago native, creates sustainable change through collaborative processes, coaching senior leaders within various industries. Her creative and invaluable expertise, sharp intelligence, and ability to take initiative, led her to become one of the best leading independent consultants.
Lester possesses an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership, a Master of Arts degree in Human Resource Development, and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in Behavioral Social Sciences with a minor in Psychology.
Lester taught two graduate level courses at University of Miami: Strategic Management and Compensation, within the Human Resources Management certification program for the Division of Continuing and International Education. She is recognized by the university and graduates for an unyielding commitment to their continual growth and learning.
Lester served two years on the Planning & Zoning Board for the City of West Palm Beach, FL and played an active role in Chicago City Council. Lester was a passionate advocate for economic development and positive change in her former neighborhood, the South Loop. She volunteered alongside former Alderman Bob Fioretti, focusing on initiatives in community development and public policy.
Lester served as a Community Development Board Member with the Greater Region YMCA in Saint Louis, Missouri (2019 - 2023). She volunteered as a tutor in the YRead program (2016 - 2019) to help children gain confidence and increase their reading comprehension skills.
Lester became a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), with the National CASA Association in 2008, advocating for abused and neglected children within the Department of Children and Family Services, and remains a devoted mandated reporter.
It’s turning moments of crisis into opportunities for growth that Lester is most proud of, and she’s prouder of the people who have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with her, bringing a special brand of discipline, empathy, resilience and stamina to bear on moving forward in times when others lose ground.
